In the West in the 1960s, people started becoming in a rut with their worldviews. All their ideas came to a dead-end that they couldn’t put their whole faith in. The answers that existentialism, nihilism, and naturalism wasn’t enough so they started to dig deeper and search around the world for more beliefs. With new technologies, Buddhist and Hindu scriptures were being published and sold cheaply. This especially helped Westerners learn the ways of the uncomplicated East. Pantheistic Monism is the base worldview that underlies the Hindu Advaita Vedanta system of Shankara, the transcendental meditation of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, and much of the Upanishads. Buddhism is extremely similar to Hinduism except they have different views on the nature of ultimate reality. The eight worldview questions don’t completely cover eastern thought. According to Pantheistic Monism, Atman is Brahman. That means that there is ultimate reality in everyone’s souls. God is the cosmos. Since everything is one, somethings are more “one” than others. There is basically a hierarchy of appearances. It goes: Mineral, vegetable, animal, then humanity.

Naturalism leads to Nihilism, but what does Nihilism lead to exactly? Existentialism partly goes down the transitional route from Naturalism to Nihilism. However, it still poses some critical questions. For years and years, humans have tried to answer the question of how one can believe in a transcendent, and at the same time, personal God? Philosophers have a hard time finding an answer to this question in the religions from the Western hemisphere. They then decided to look to the East for a solution. The West tends to contradict themselves immensely and after a long quest for answers, you’re left with nothing. The East, however, proved differently. Buddhist and Hindu teachings have been traveling to the West for over a century. The most popular Eastern worldview is: pantheistic monism. Pantheistic monism broken down basically means “one god everywhere”. Buddhism transcends from Hinduism, but one key element is missing which is: the nature of ultimate reality. Furthermore, this worldview is found lacking in answering the 8 questions. The first 3 worldview questions state that “Atman is Brahman”, a phrase from Hinduism. Theism expresses that God created the heavens and the earth, but the Hindu religion states that God IS earth and everything that dwells on it.

We have come to the end of western philosophy as we have seen that Nihilism is difficult to transcend. Now we change gears and take a look at the philosophies of the East. Eastern Pantheistic Monism is the most popular form of eastern thought in the west. And each person is God, nothing exists that is not God. Our oneness gives us reality, there is no reality in separateness. This oneness cannot be expressed, we can only realize it by becoming it, resting in it.

The Eastern Pantheistic Monism is include a lot of different theism, and the mean one is Buddhism which come from India, the Buddhism provide that every thing is the part of god, every thing is one thing, every way will finally lead to one end, the every thing is just the cosmos, and the cosmos is just everything in this world.

Western thought come to a dead end, people can’t make any provement. So people look back to the Naturalism, they found three things. First, people don’t have to abandon their naturalism. Secondly, people need to stop quarreling about distinguishing true. Thirdly, we need to abandon our activism. Finally,if the quarrels became armed conflicts, we need to treated completely.
The interest to East began from 1960s. First, western technology made possible modern warfare. Second, the western economy make society unequal and people depression. Thirdly, western religious is trying to take over the power.
The East is more attractive than the west and have a longer tradition.People thought Eastern has been to west, they brought the Buddhist and the Hindu.

The studies such as the History of Indian Philosophy lead the most popular worldview: pantheistic monism. It says that only one impersonal element constitutes reality.
However, there’re two difficulties while we analysis the worldview. First, the 8 worldview questions doesn’t work to the Eastern worldview. Secondly, there exists a huge difference between the two cultures.

Worldview questions 1, 2,3: Atman is Brahman; that is, the soul of each and every human being is the Soul of the cosmos.
God is all that exist, nothing exists that is not God. He is the ultimate reality,

Worldview question 1, 2, 3: Some things are more one than others.

Eastern pantheistic monism is when problems came in people’s beliefs and they started questioning them, they took their way to the east searching for the right answer. In the course of all this Sire says that naturalism transcends to nihilism which leads to atheistic existentialism which is the major source of problems in beliefs. Since the 1960s the swing to the eastern thoughts came, moreover the east has an even longer tradition than the west and is more attractive. Hence the eastern thought has been flowing west: like the buddhist, hindu scriptures started getting translated hence able to circulate the world, here the easterners kept moving back and forth in the united states like the indian gurus. The first worldview of easterners is: Atman is Brahman meaning the soul of each and every human is the soul of the cosmos.

Perhaps we should look again at naturalism.First,we can trace the interest in the East to the rejection of middle-class values by the young generation of the 1960s.Second,Let us call a moratorium not only on quarreling but on distinguishing intellectually at all.Third, its exotic and radically different religious framework, the East is extremely attractive .Moreover, the East has an even longer tradition than the West. Finally,if western quarrels turn into armed conflicts, why not retreat completely? History of indian philosophy world view most popular in the west ;pantheistic monism.the notion that only one impersonal element constitutes reality two difficulties in doing worldview analysis .First, that the eight worldview question imply a set of categories that characterize eastern thought.Second,God is the one ,infinite impersonal ,ultimate reality.that is god is the cosmos.God is all that exists;nothing exists that is not god.

Eastern Pantheistic Monism sets up a new way to look at this world. This belief abandons the reason and the framework left by naturalism and other worldviews. Since other worldviews could not figure out the basic worldview questions. Some philosophers decided to diverge from the normal path to a different path. Pantheistic monism was the most popular one, which only one impersonal element constitutes the reality. The meaning of God in East differed with that of in West. It proposed the concept that everything exsits is God. Thus, a human being is a God, too. The entire world is oneness. We are the oneness with the all. Basiclly, it says that “The seed we hold in our hands, is the world we see through our eyes. However, It is also ironic some way because everything has the same value since they are all Gods. Then, why human being has the power to destroy another God by satisfying his/her own benefits?

On the Western views, we have developed and studied multiple religions and finally reached an impasse, nihilism. We have tried to start over at naturalism and go around nihilism but result yielded is unremarkable. Eventually, we decided to retreat from the Western thought and swing to the Eastern one in the 1960s. Given its longer tradition than the West, quietism, uncomplicated lifestyle, with an exotic and radically different religious frame work, the East is very attractive. Now, we will take a look at the Eastern worldview most popular in the West: pantheistic monism. This world view is the root of many religions such as: Hindu Advaita Vedanta system of Shankara, the Transcendental Meditation of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, etc. It is distinguished from other Eastern worldview by it monoism, “only one impersonal element constitutes reality.”
1. Worldview Questions 1,2 and 3: Atman is Brahman; that is, the soul of each and every human being is the Soul of the cosmos (ultimate reality).
The soul of any person is the soul of the cosmos. Each person is God. God is all that exist.

2. Worldview Questions 1,2 and 3, continued: Some things are more one than others.
Reality is a hierarchy appearance.

this chapter is talking about how the west has adopted a naturalism worldview which has also led them to nihilism, but the introduction of modern technology has changed them into theistic existentialism which as we saw has a few problems and more people wanted to stick with naturalism but the new culture couldnt allow it. and for the East after multiple wars the rejected the new middle class values, so the decided not to ambadone their normal values, second they didnt want their economy to fail and third they realized how religion was causing alot of problems in the west. so they decided to stick with their values and avoid falling in the trap.

We can trace the interest in the East to the rejection of middle-class values by the young generation of the 1960s. Therefore, primarily a retreat from Western thought. Its exotic and radically different religious framework, the East is extremely attractive. Pantheistic monism is distinguished from other related Eastern worldviews by its monism, the notion that only one impersonal element constitutes reality. We must be aware of the vast differences among religious and cultural embodiments of Eastern pantheism. Worldview analysis is neither a description nor an analysis of religious.

Pantheistic monism is distinguished from other eastern worldview.
First we got to realize the eight worldview questions that can set a categories that don’t really fit.
Every human being is the soul of the cosmos and the soul of each.
Instead of saying between God and his creation the Hindu declares them to be one and the same.
They think each person is the whole shooting match each person is God.
In east, “know”reality is pass beyond different, to “realize” the oneness of all by being one with the all.
Monism says “something’s are more one than other”. It is another way to say hierarchical of appearance.

Eastern pantheistic monism is the idea that states that God is everywhere but also one. The Baby Boomers consider violence and technologies are manifestations of westerners; as a result, many westerners turned to East to find answers. Eastern pantheistic monism brought interests to the westerners because it had a completely new concept of viewing the world – god is defined in pantheistic terms. God is the cosmos and god is all that exists, nothing exists that is not god.

Few days before, we mainly learned about Hinduism. This time, we move to the east which is eastern pantheistic monism. Compare with Nihilism, one advantage is that Monism is not like Nihilism which is hard to transcend on the terms that the western world, permeated by Naturalism, wishes to accept. Also, Atheistic existentialism, as we have seen, is one attempt, but it has some rather serious problems. To search more, there is a very different way. With its anti rationalism, its syncretism, its quietism, till recently it’s lack of technology, its exotic and radically different veligious framework, the east is extremely attractive. Further for over a century Eastern thought has been flowing west. What is Monism? Pantheistic monism is distinguished from other related eastern worldviews by its monism the notion that only one impersonal element constitutes reality. Still, to introduce those to the various mind sets of our Eastern counterparts, understanding this worldview is good for us.

This talks about again how people are always looking for a religion that makes sense to them but what they do is look around the world for other religions that are easy to understand other than look at the one that has things like miracles. In my opinion if i wasnt christian thats what i would do. I would look for a religion with supernatural powers like christianity. I would want to see the miracles that happen. the problem is that might cause a problem because i might end up in like witch craft or something. But one thing i think people that are looking for a religion that makes sense should do is look for one that gives the people a choice and doesnt order for them to do things in order to please there God.

In this Chapter it talks about “the journey to the east” naturalism leads to nihilism is hard to transcend on the terms that western world. Basically theism is an option, but for a naturalist it is uninvited. People today would rather stick with their naturalism, for it seems to be a decided improvement on the favor loud religion it rejects.the following description is limited tithe eastern world view that underlies the Hindu avaita Vedanta and other religious views. West must be aware of the vast different among religious, worldview analysis is neither a description not an analysis.

Chapter 7 talks about Eastern religions. Pantheistic monism is the most popular religion in the Eastern world. Buddhism and hindu are the obivious example of panthestic monism. Pantheistic monism believes that only one impersonal element constitutes the reality.
Worldview question 1,2,3
Everyone has the soul . In hindu , it’s called atman . My religion also has one called linh hồn . Also , god is all that exist , nothing exists that is not God. If anything that is not god exists , it’s maya ,illusion. Moreover,Brahman is ultimate reality, to be real you must be one with the One. Some things are closer to the One than others. Humans are closer to the One than plants or animals. Gurus are closer to the one than other humans.

Eastern Pantheistic Monism is the “answer” to those Westerners whom during the war could find no answer or solution to what the world must mean. It states that God is everywhere, is everything. And if it is not go God it is not real. Which is maya.

Eathern pantheistic monism was the most popular in the eastern religion, they are two religion dominate in Eastern which are hindu and buddhist.the hindu and buddhist scripture has been translated and now circulate in inexpensive paperback edition s.basicly Eastern pantheistic monism was the history of Indian philosophy pantheistic monism was the popular world view in the West which underlies the hindu in that case Buddhism developed from hinduism and shares many of its feature.in my opition the most people today would rather stick with their naturalism, for it seems to be a decided improvement on the favor loud religion it rejects.i want to finish on BUddhism they think that every thing is the part of GOD and which panth leads to one finally way and every thing is cosmos, and cosmos is just everything in this world

We know that naturalism leads to nihilism. We get to learn about different eastern religions. Pantheistic monism is distinguished from from other related eastern worldviews by monism. It declares that reality is ultimately personal. Nihilism is hard to transcendent that the western world wants to take in. People today would rather stick to naturalism rather than to go to theism but which is uninviting for naturalist because they can’t get how they can accept a transcendent God.

In Chapter 7 we are getting to know about the religions in the East. Eastern Pantheistic Monism is the one that is the most spread. In that belief everyone is God. If soothing exists and is no God then it’s an illusion. Also there is an hierarchy where Guru is the closest to the top, then there are people and then there are flowers and plants.

Eastern Pantheistic Monism says that God is everywhere and always, God is everything. If it is not of God then it is not real, if it is not real, it is called maya. Furthermore, the ultimate goal is to become one with the One. This is to be at complete peace and to become part of the void. The void is the final reality which what one strives for. In addition, the popularity of Eastern Pantheistic Monism became popular during World War II which people didn’t know what to believe anymore and turned towards the East. What happened though is that the West and East are different cultures and many of the times things can be misinterpreted and the West has a different impression of what the East truly is teaching. Such as the term of the use of karma. Karma is when you are selfish more or less and looking out for only yourself trying to up yourself into another level of karmic goodness. The more you help others, the higher you go. Therefore when someone does you wrong instead of getting upset if you help them you will gain a level while they will ” get what is coming for them “. Many people claim to be seeking the Buddhist zen lifestyle but in reality is different than the typical Western imagine of it and many people here are not living by the true core of it.

Perhaps we should look again at naturalism. Let us call a moratorium not only on quarreling but on distinguishing intellectually at all. Perhaps any useful doctrine should be considered true. Finally, if Western quarrels turn into armed conflicts, why not retreat completely? We can trace the interest in the – East to the rejection of middle-class values by the young generation of the 1960s. It’s exotic and radically different has an even longer tradition than the West. Worldview most popular in the West: pantheistic monism. The notion that only one impersonal element constitutes reality. Two difficulties in doing worldview analysis. That the eight worldview questions imply a set of categories that do not neatly fit the categories that characterize Eastern thought. God is the one, infinite impersonal, ultimate reality. That is, God is the cosmos. God is all that exists; nothing exists that is not God.
